We learned a lot about the Kingdom’s favorite stars during the team’s bye week.
During the week off, both Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes used extra time and space to do things they might not have had time for otherwsie.
Following months of rumors, this weekend provided the clearest sign yet that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are indeed “a thing”. He used the Kansas City Chiefs’ bye week to fly to Taylor Swift’s Buenos Aires, Argentina concert where a Swiftie captured Taylor running off the stage and into his arms after the show.
Aww. Good for them.
And on the Kelce brothers’ latest ‘New Heights’ podcast which dropped on Wednesday, Jason and Travis talked about the big moments from the show including how she adjusted the lyrics to “Karma” during her performance.
Meanwhile our QB1 Patrick Mahomes stayed a tad more football-relevant. Patrick and Brittany were clad in enemy attire in Lawrence, cheeering for Patrick’s alma mater Texas Tech during their road upset of the University of Kansas on Saturday. But that’s not the Mahomes story that made the biggest waves.
On Monday night, Patrick used his week off to drop in on the Monday Night Football Manningcast with Eli and Peyton Manning. Patrick expertly predicted a 3-play Denver Broncos touchdown sequence, and maybe shared a bit too much information about his gameday superstitions.
As Eli mentioned, newly retired Chiefs backup QB Chad Henne actually spilled those beans earlier this year.
Henne was freshly retired, less than 72 hours after the team’s Super Bowl 57 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and Kansas City was preparing for a parade in a post-championship glow. No wonder we all missed this! And look at Patrick’s reaction when the red undies are brought up. He’s gonna give Henne some grief, for sure.
Speaking of the Eagles, the Chiefs next game is a Super Bowl 57 rematch on Monday Night Football this coming week. And on paper, the matchup is massive. Both teams sit atop their respective conferences; and the Chiefs need a win to stay ahead of the Baltimore Ravens in the standings.
