With tons of archival footage and audio dating back as far as A Hard Day’s Night through to Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s recent sessions to add bass and drums, we know a whole lot more about how “Now And Then” was brought back to life from John Lennon’s noisy cassette tape demo.

The documentary short also sheds more light on director Peter Jackson’s audio separation technology, developed during his work on the Get Back docuseries a few years ago, and how the discovery finally allowed engineers to isolate John’s voice. With John’s original vocal now clear, together with George Harrison’s guitar from the abandoned 1995 session, could now be combined with Paul and Ringo’s more recent contributions to create the last new Beatles song the world will ever hear.

More info about the project can be found here. We’ll get to hear the song “Now And Then” in full at 8:00am CT on Thursday, November 2; with a Peter Jackson-directed music video 24 hours later.
