We’ve had some oppressive heat this last few weeks! For our homeless neighbors, the challenges of heat are real and every bit as dangerous as the extreme cold is during the winter.
On days when temperatures are forecast to reach OVER 90⁰, we activate our Extreme Warm Weather Procedures at both our Men’s Center and Women & Family Center to ensure our guests are comfortable, well-hydrated and safe.
Your financial gifts and donations of bottled water, box fans, new socks, foot powder and sunblock are appreciated to assist as we serve our guests during this hot weather. Visit https://bit.ly/GiveHopeToHomeless to donate.
Material donations can be delivered to our warehouse at 1700 E. 8th St, KCMO.
City Union Mission Men’s Shelter, 1108 E. 10th St., and at the City Union Mission Family Center, 1310 Wabash Ave., will have emergency bed capacity.
Additionally, current overnight guests also will be able to check in early and families with children will be able to stay inside the facility during the day.
